Only stainless steel gear pumps suitable for working conditions can maintain long-term operation, so how to choose stainless steel gear pumps?
1. First, it is necessary to understand the condition of the medium conveyed by the stainless steel gear pump, such as viscosity, density, temperature, acidity and alkalinity, corrosiveness, etc.
2. Secondly, understand whether the medium has lubricity, whether it contains impurities or solid particles.
3. There is also a need to understand whether the medium delivered by the stainless steel gear pump is soluble, volatile, or whether the delivery medium is corrosive or soluble to a certain sealing material.
First, select the appropriate pump body material, gear material, and shaft material of the stainless steel gear pump according to the corrosiveness and pH of the medium to be sent. For conventional corrosive media, you can directly choose 304 stainless steel, and gears and shafts can be nitrided or tempered. For corrosive media, 316 stainless steel or 316L stainless steel is generally selected. For stainless steel gear pumps, 316 or 316L stainless steel is selected. Please note that the gear must be nitrided or carburized, hard chrome plated, etc. Because 316 or 316L has high carbon content and soft material, we do not recommend using it as a gear or spindle because it is not strong enough. If the quality is not good, the shaft is easy to deform or bend, which directly affects the use.
Secondly, it is necessary to select the appropriate sleeve or bearing according to the lubrication degree of the medium delivered by the stainless steel gear pump. When transporting lubricating media, you can choose conventional stainless steel backed composite sleeves or stainless steel bearings or stainless steel sliding sleeves. High-strength graphite bushings, silicon carbide bushings, silicon carbide bearings, tungsten carbide bushings and zirconia ceramic bearings must be selected when conveying poor lubricating media. This depends on the medium delivered by the stainless steel gear pump and the current working conditions. Process to choose.
Finally, additional attention should be paid to the sealing of stainless steel gear pumps. Generally, the seals include packing seals, mechanical seals, magnetic seals, bellows seals, double end seals, etc., and specific materials are selected for specific working conditions.
